Obituary

Johni Lynn Fairley Obituary Johni Lynn Fairley, beloved daughter, cousin, and friend, passed away on January 7, 2025, at Manatee Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 13, 1964, in San Jose, California, to the late John Louis Fairley. A proud graduate of Herrin High School, Johni pursued her passion for education by completing several college courses. She worked as a travel agent, which allowed her to explore the world and create lasting memories with her mother, who was always up for an adventure. Eventually, Johni moved to Florida, where she earned a bachelors degree in literature. Johni dedicated her career to teaching and spent many fulfilling years at several schools, with her latest position at Palmetto High School, where she taught reading. Her love for her students was boundless, and she frequently bragged about their successes, celebrating each milestone with pride while regularly sharing stories about her coworkers at Palmetto. Known for her vibrant spirit, humor, and unwavering kindness, Johni touched the hearts of many and created cherished memories with her loved ones. Her infectious laughter, bright blue eyes, and compassionate nature will be deeply missed. Johni Lynn is survived by her husband, Stephen Bourdeau, of Palmetto, her mother, Earline Bird Fairley, of Holmes Beach, and her best friend, Peggy Glenn, of Holmes Beach. She is also survived by numerous cousins and family members scattered across many states. Johni Lynn Fairley will be laid to rest at a private burial in Herrin City Cemetery. A celebration of her life will take place on August 2, 2025, at 11 A.M. Location to be announced. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her honor to a charity of choice. Rest in peace, dear Johni. You will be missed but never forgotten. Brown & Sons Funeral Homes & Crematory 43rd Street Chapel, 604 43rd Street West, Bradenton, FL 34209, is in charge of arrangements.
