Obituary

Betty Busch Obituary Betty M. Busch, 94, of Herrin, passed away Friday, February 21, 2025 at S.I.H. Herrin Hospital in Herrin, IL. Betty worked as a cook at Farmer’s Table in Marion, IL and Vie’s Café in Cambria for 17 years. Betty was of Baptist faith. She was a member of the Carbondale Eagles Club for 67 years. Betty was born May 29, 1930 in Herrin, IL to Millard Armstrong and Bess Hamilton. Betty married Philip B. Busch in 1966 in Kentucky. He preceded her in death on October 11, 1987. She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Sue Morgan of Hurst, IL; grandson, Thomas Hogan of Herrin, IL; numerous cousins and many friends; and she was known as Grandma Betty / AKA Millie to many. She was preceded in death by her husband; son, Thomas “Skippy” Smith; and parents. Funeral Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, February 27, 2025 at Meredith-Waddell Funeral Home in Herrin with Rev. Mark Goldman officiating. Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Interment will be at Herrin City Cemetery in Herrin. Memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital for Children, 4400 Clayton Avenue, St. Louis, MO 63110; envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
